Short answer
Yes: on Steam and on the Xbox PC app, the same day as console
The PC version launches on October 6, 2026 alongside the Xbox release. You can buy it on Steam for $69.99, buy it through the Xbox PC app, or play the Xbox PC app version with PC Game Pass or Game Pass Ultimate.
Both stores get the same game and the same launch time. The differences are about ecosystem: which library it sits in, whether one purchase also covers a console, and how you connect with friends on other platforms.

Do Steam players need a Microsoft account?
During the August beta, The Coalition answered this directly: an Xbox or Microsoft account is not required to play on Steam. Linking one is only needed if you want to send cross-platform squad invites.
For the full game, the Steam page’s legal notice says acceptance of the Microsoft Services Agreement and Privacy Statement is required to play, and the description calls account linking optional. No launch-week post changes the beta answer, but none repeats it either, so treat it as the last official word rather than a guarantee.
To link, open the social pane from the main menu and choose “Link Account” in the upper-left corner. Linking is also what carries progress between platforms.
PC-only features
These come from the Steam description and the NVIDIA partnership post.
- Borderless, exclusive fullscreen and windowed display modes.
- A Max FPS setting of 30, 60, 90, 120, 144, 240 or Unlimited.
- Ultrawide support at 21:9 and 32:9 in gameplay and menus.
- DLSS 4.5, FSR, XeSS and TSR upscaling, with optional frame generation.
- A built-in benchmark mode.
- Full keyboard, mouse and controller remapping.
Languages, controllers and drivers
The Steam page lists 22 supported languages. Eleven have full audio: English, French, Italian, German, Spanish for Spain and for Latin America, Japanese, Korean, Brazilian Portuguese, and Simplified and Traditional Chinese.
Controller support is full, and DualSense controllers are listed specifically. During the beta the game refused to start on older NVIDIA drivers, and The Coalition named minimum versions for AMD and Intel too, so update your graphics driver before launch day.
Handhelds, cloud and saves
The store page describes the game as optimised for Steam Deck, Xbox Ally X and Xbox Ally. Optional account linking carries progress between platforms through roaming saves.
If your hardware is not up to it, the early access post names GeForce NOW as a cloud option for PC owners, and Game Pass Ultimate members can stream through Xbox Cloud Gaming.
Why a Microsoft game is on Steam
Search suggestions show people asking this, so here is the short version. Xbox named Steam as a platform in the June 2026 reveal, every platform statement since has repeated it, and the Collector’s Edition is sold in a Steam version as well as an Xbox Series X one. Xbox gave no separate explanation for the decision.
