Short answer

No. E-Day has not been announced for PlayStation 5

Every official platform statement since June 2026 lists Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Steam and cloud gaming, and nothing else. The launch-week post from Xbox repeats the same list. There is no PlayStation Store page and no announced date.

Kotaku’s recap of the June 2026 Direct put it plainly: the game is coming to Xbox and PC and not PS5. Gematsu reported that Xbox CEO Asha Sharma described it as an “Xbox console exclusive.” Whether that changes later is unknown; Microsoft has not commented on a future port.

What the official sources say

The wording has been consistent. The June 7, 2026 announcement lists Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC and cloud, calls the game an Xbox Play Anywhere title and adds that it is also on Steam. The editions page lists the same three purchase platforms. The October 1 early access post names Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC and Steam, with cloud through Game Pass Ultimate and GeForce NOW.

PlayStation is absent from all of them. That is the evidence this page rests on: an omission repeated across four months of official posts, plus independent reporting that reads it the same way.

Why people expected a PS5 version

The expectation was reasonable. Gears of War: Reloaded brought the series to PlayStation consoles for the first time, and several other Xbox-published games have followed that path.

There is also reporting that a PS5 version existed. Gematsu noted that a PlayStation 5 version had recently been rated by PEGI, the European ratings board. Wccftech reported on June 7, 2026 that, according to Giant Bomb’s Jeff Grubb, E-Day had been planned for PS5 and then pulled; Gematsu quotes him as saying a nearly finished version exists.

Those are press reports and one reporter’s claims. Microsoft has not said publicly that a PlayStation version was developed, so treat this as background rather than established fact.

Ways to play without an Xbox console

Supported options for players who do not own an Xbox
OptionWhat you needNotes
SteamA PC that meets the ray-tracing requirement$69.99; DualSense controllers are supported.
Xbox PC appWindows PCBuy it, or play with PC Game Pass from October 6.
Xbox Cloud GamingA Game Pass plan with cloud accessStreams the game; no local hardware requirement beyond a supported device.
GeForce NOWA GeForce NOW membership and a PC copyNamed in the official early access post.

Could it come to PS5 later?

Nothing official rules it out and nothing official supports it. No timed-exclusivity window has been stated, and the studio’s public roadmap covers only seasonal content for the existing platforms. The reported PEGI rating suggests a version existed in some form; it is not a release plan.

If a port is announced, the signal will be an Xbox Wire post or a PlayStation Store listing. Until one exists, any date you see elsewhere is speculation. We will update this page when an official statement appears.

If you only own a PS5

  • Check whether your PC meets the minimum spec: an RTX 2060 or RX 6600 class card and 12 GB of RAM.
  • Remember that your DualSense works with the Steam version.
  • Consider cloud play if your PC is too old.
  • Do not pre-pay third-party sellers for a PlayStation version. None is on sale.
